As Cheltenham & Gloucester Residential Lettings grew, it
became a natural choice to extend their business to another
area. Tewkesbury was chosen and the new office opened in 2002.
(It was formally known as Tewkesbury Residential Lettings).
Jayne Hartland manages a very stable team and over the last
4 years the property rental portfolio has grown to over 200
units and, with new housing developments taking place around
the area, this number is set to grow.
Tewkesbury has been an important town for many centuries. It
is situated at the junction of great rivers, the Avon and the
Severn.
It is also famous for its Abbey, which was founded in the 11th
century and proves to be a great tourist attraction.
The town is also famous for a decisive battle, which took place
in 1471 during the war of the Roses, and to commemorate this
historical event, a battle re-enactment takes place every year.
In more recent times Tewkesbury has become an important distribution
centre for industry, largely because the M5 is right on the
doorstep. It has also attracted other light industry because
of its location, which helps with local employment and ensures
that the local economy is healthy.
The present population of Tewkesbury is calculated to be in
excess of 76,000 and because of new housing development, this
is bound to increase over the coming years.
The Town itself remains largely unchanged with a busy High Street
and many fascinating architectural features.
We have now found that our present office is too small and we
are moving to 3 Church Street GL20 5PA which is located conveniently
by the cross.
