Move-In Day – What to Expect

When the day arrives for you to take possession of your new home, we’ll already have agreed a convenient appointment time at your local CGT Lettings branch.

Your move-in appointment will last approximately 60 minutes, during which:

  • You’ll collect your keys

  • Complete any final paperwork

  • Receive your Tenant Pack containing:

    • A copy of your signed Tenancy Agreement

    • Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)

    • Gas and Electrical Safety Certificates (if applicable)

    • Tenancy Deposit Certificate (TDS)

    • Copies of utility notifications

    • Guidance on managing your tenancy

We'll book in your first inspection, 3 months after move-in, a great opportunity to share your experience and feedback

Inventory & Property Condition

You will be provided with a detailed inventory describing the condition and contents of the property at the start of the tenancy.

You’ll have 48 hours to review, add comments or amendments, and return the signed copy to us. This ensures fairness and transparency at the end of your tenancy.

Important – Before We Release the Keys

Before we can release the keys, the following must be completed:

  • All tenants aged 18 and over must have signed the tenancy agreement

  • All remaining funds (including rent and deposit) must be paid in full

    • We recommend payment by debit card or bankers draft

    • For security reasons, we do not accept cash payments

Need Help or Have Questions?

Your local CGT team is on hand to support you. If you have questions about your move-in, payments, or paperwork, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to welcoming you to your new home!
